ON GOING PROJECTS

Project Name: Leading University Project for International Cooperation
Duration: April 1, 2020 – March 31, 2027 (7 years)
Project Partner Organization: Kongju National University, South Korea and Mongolian University of Science and Technology, Mongolia

1. Project Objectives:

  • To train personnel in the conservation and protection of Mongolian cultural heritage and to develop essential capabilities.
  • To establish a " Tangible cultural heritage conservation technology " program in collaboration with Kongju National University (South Korea) to train competent professionals in the scientific preservation, protection, and restoration of Mongolian cultural heritage, while organizing related activities.
  • To establish a "Conservation Science Education Cooperation Institute" aimed at providing training, awareness, and education on cultural heritage conservation and protection. This will target cultural heritage conservators, related experts, and interested citizens who lack fundamental knowledge of cultural heritage conservation.

2. Project Implementation:

  • Developed Bachelor's and Master's level curricula focused on the science of Mongolian tangible cultural heritage conservation.
  • Established a joint program in cultural heritage conservation technology and created the Conservation Science Education Cooperation Institute.

3. Laboratories:

  • Research and Training Center for Heritage Conservation
  • Digital Heritage Lab
  • Archaeological Artifact Conservation Laboratory 

4. Job placement: A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was established for the purpose of job placement in cooperation with 14 state and non-governmental organizations operating in relevant sectors and inter-sectoral areas.
